Adhesive Options

Permanent or removable — the right choice depends on how often your locations change.

Shelf and bin labels are one of the few label types where adhesive choice genuinely changes the workflow. Get it wrong and you are either relabeling fixed locations constantly or leaving sticky residue every time you reorganize.

Permanent Adhesive

For fixed shelf and bin locations.

Permanent adhesive shelf labels form a strong, lasting bond to shelving surfaces — metal, plastic, and coated wood. Once applied, they stay in place through repeated picking, restocking, and handling without lifting or peeling. The right choice for warehouses with stable slotting that does not change frequently.

RemovalNot designed for clean removal
Best forFixed warehouse locations
Best for: Established warehouse layouts with infrequent slotting changes — racking labels, fixed bin identification, and permanent pick face labeling.
Removable Adhesive

For locations that change regularly.

Removable adhesive shelf labels bond securely during use but peel away cleanly without leaving residue when it is time to re-slot. The right choice for operations that reorganize frequently — seasonal inventory changes, dynamic slotting, promotional product rotations, or any facility where shelf locations shift regularly.

Best for: Retail backrooms, dynamic slotting operations, seasonal warehouse layouts, and any pick face that changes more than once a quarter.
Applications

Where shelf and bin labels get applied.

Shelf and bin labels cover a wide range of location identification applications — from floor-level pick bins to overhead shelf edges and everything in between.

01

Warehouse Shelving Pick Faces

Labels applied to the shelf edge at each pick location — aisle, bay, shelf, and slot coded for scanner-directed picking workflows.

02

Storage Bins and Totes

Location labels for individual storage bins, plastic totes, and compartmentalized storage systems in receiving and stockroom environments.

03

Retail Backroom Shelving

Removable shelf labels for retail stockrooms where seasonal resets, new product arrivals, and markdown cycles require frequent relabeling without residue.

04

Manufacturing Parts Storage

Bin labels for component storage in manufacturing and assembly environments — identifying part numbers, quantities, and storage locations for production workflows.

What Gets Printed

Printed from your location data — exactly how your WMS expects it.

Shelf and bin labels are custom printed from your location data file. The fields on each label match whatever location coding system your warehouse management system or inventory software uses — whether that is a simple aisle-bay-slot format, a full alphanumeric location code, or a custom system unique to your facility.

Standard content includes the human-readable location code, a scannable barcode of that code, and any additional identifiers your team needs at the pick face — zone markers, SKU references, or capacity notes.

We produce labels in the exact installation sequence you need — aisle by aisle, shelf by shelf — so your team can apply them in order without sorting through a bulk roll at installation time.

Common Questions

Frequently asked about shelf and bin labels.

It depends on how often your shelf locations change. Permanent adhesive is the right choice for fixed warehouse layouts where SKU slotting is stable and labels stay in place for months or years. Removable adhesive is better for operations that reorganize shelving regularly — retail backrooms, dynamic slotting warehouses, or seasonal operations where locations shift frequently. Many facilities use a mix of both depending on the zone.

Yes. We produce labels from your data file and can sequence them in your preferred installation order — aisle by aisle, shelf by shelf, or any order that makes your installation efficient. Tell us your preferred sequence when you submit your quote and we will produce accordingly.

Whatever format your WMS or inventory system uses. We print from your data file, so the location code on every label matches exactly what your system expects — whether that is a simple A-04-02 format, a full alphanumeric code, or a custom system unique to your facility. Tell us your format in the quote form and we will produce to match.

Our shelf and bin labels apply well to metal shelving, plastic storage bins, coated wood, and most standard warehouse shelf surfaces. If you are labeling an unusual surface material — painted metal, textured plastic, or cold storage shelving — mention it in the quote form so we can confirm the right adhesive for your application.

We work with all order sizes — from small replacement runs of a few hundred labels to full warehouse installs of tens of thousands. Tell us your total location count and we will find an option that works for your facility and budget.
