What Is a UPC Label

The standard barcode for retail and supply chain identification.

A UPC (Universal Product Code) is a 12-digit barcode used worldwide to uniquely identify products and track them through retail and supply chain systems. Every product sold at retail — on a store shelf, through a marketplace like Amazon, or direct to consumer — needs a UPC barcode for point-of-sale scanning and inventory tracking.

UPC labels are the physical labels that carry that barcode. LabelData produces pre-printed UPC labels from your customer-supplied data file — formulated to produce dark, high-density images and crisp barcodes. Grade A smudge and scratch resistance — the print sets cleanly and remains stable during handling and packaging.

If your barcode type is not a standard UPC, we support a full range of symbologies. Specify the barcode type in your order and we will produce accordingly. Additional charges may apply for non-standard setups including multiple formats, data formatting, hard-copy proofs, or graphic design elements.
